The human element must always be emphasized in design,
The built environment – whether it is a home, office building or cultural centre and museum – must be in harmony with its surroundings.
As designers, we are translators of these ideas and moods which often have deep roots in culture, history and social structures. The most successful designs always have these as governing factors, and a design can only be successful when it fulfills the needs and vision of the people and community.
We place a high priority on both internal and external communication. All staff and team members are kept abreast of a project’s progress. We encourage meetings on a regular basis between Owner, Architect and the Consultant Team encouraging all participants to interact and exchange ideas.
Today’s complex buildings require unique and eclectic ideas and solutions to ensure the consistency of the design intent. Throughout the various stages of design, our firm uses an extensive palette of tools that allows us to convey the design of your building to the contractor, the stakeholder and ultimately you – the client.
Our firm takes full advantage of the latest software, including AutoCAD, Revit, Sketch Up, Artlantis and Photoshop allowing us to work in a virtual three dimensional environment. We have found that working in this virtual space reduces the occurrence of problems. Although these newer technologies are very powerful tools, they have not fully replaced some of the more traditional techniques and our design collaborative will utilize hand sketches and physical models to best represent their design ideas.
